Helen Hald

founder

Helen is licensed in the states of Washington, California and Idaho. She is a native of Berkeley, California, and is a second-generation Architect. Artistically gifted, she has been handling pencils and paintbrushes ever since she can remember. A pre-College program at California College of the Arts was a joy during her High School years.

Chapelle de Notre-Dame du Haut, Ronchamp, France

Helen received her Bachelor of Architecture at California State University, Pomona. For her final year of this five-year immersion program, she was honored to be accepted into the Architecture department’s exclusive international year-long study program, in Florence Italy.

A journey to visit Le Corbusier’s chapel in Ronchamp, France, during a summer as an au-pair in Paris, led to a lasting love affair with modern architecture.

Remaining relevant comes naturally for Helen. Her passion drives her to seek knowledge of design, materials, building technology and alternative energy.

Helen is a long-time member of Historic Seattle and active with the local chapter of DoCoMoMo WeWa. She also leads a neighborhood group devoted to the preservation of a development of mid-century Paul Hayden Kirk designed homes.

Helen’s lifelong connection with nature continues to inspire every one of her designs.
